Recently I made a family tree out of some bits of fabric (left over from a wedding dress commission!) and some embroidered table matts I found in a charity shop. I have a bit of a thing for old, hand embellished textiles.. The fact that someone, somewhere handmade them is something I find too hard to resist and I've collected tonnes of them over the years..
Stitching Czech family names.. Borsky, Fromberger, Hynek anyone?
I had to cut the embroidered matts up to decorate the corners. Quite painful to chop up someone's hand embroidered work but it was for a worthwhile cause I think..
Finished. (Apart from a few spelling mistakes that were pointed out later - doh!)
